Announcements For 5/28/23

  • We had our Next Steps lunch after church. Next Steps is a meeting designed for new people to come and find out more about The Grove. It is led by elders and provides info on who we are as a church, why we started and how you can plug in or become a member. Please fill out a next steps card if you are interested in coming to Next Steps the next time it happens.
  • Abide Women’s Bible Study starts this week! Each Thursday there will be a weekly meeting (one from 10am-Noon and another from 6-8pm). Our Women’s Ministry is excited to start and encourage women to reach out if they have any questions. Natalie Chesson and Susannah Kautz are your points of contact for this.
  • Kid’s Ministry needs volunteers. Kid’s ministry is the largest mission opportunity in our church. Our Kid’s Ministry pours the gospel into our kids weekly and can only be done with the great volunteers who serve. Lauren Bomar would love to talk to you more about serving as a volunteer in Kid’s Ministry.
  • A meeting to discuss our new Youth Group will be held on June 4 after church. If you are interested in volunteering with the Youth Group please attend this meeting and reach out to Katie Oakley.
  • Our Summer Family Picnic will be happening each week at Brad Ragan Park at 6pm. Bring a meal for your family to the lower picnic shelter at the back of the park. This is a great way to stay plugged in to community and also hang out with people from church that may be outside your homegroup.
  • Buy The Building Update – We are at 102% pledged and 89% given for our buy the building campaign. This is incredible news! If you have not turned in your pledge card you can still do that. Our $310,000 goal was for the down payment so any additional amount will go towards the payoff of the building! As a reminder, if you made a pledge and haven’t donated then you can do that between now and August 1st. Our goal is to have the 89% at 100% by that date for the down payment. Right now we are scheduling an engineer to come and give us a full report of the building in the due diligence period.
  • Elder Candidate James Byrd’s candidate period will be ending next Sunday. Over the past 6+ months we have had opportunity as a church to see if he meets the qualifications of an elder found in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:6–9 . We also have had opportunity to hear James preach multiple times. With these affirmations, we are ready to install him officially as an elder. After he preaches Sunday, Pastors Mark and Adam will lead our church in installing him as an official elder.
